We are printing covers this year rather than embossing because we have to incorporate barcodes, and we won't use stickers (yes, we're that stubborn). That, and some of the papers from past years have been discontinued or are difficult to secure in the quantities we need.
MORE (a lot more) information (with links) about why we choose uncoated papers and covers for all of our planners in the MORE section.
Cover Colors: Named for lesser-known animals as a reminder of what a remarkable gift planet earth is, and how important it is to protect it.
The 2023 planners are the trickiest we’ve ever worked with in terms of accurately representing the colors. As you walk from room to room, or go from inside to out - they can be bright, muted, rich, and then dull - all depending on the light they are absorbing/reflecting. It’s the nature of the raw, uncoated, kraft cover material - making every photo we take of these chameleon planners simultaneously true + false.
No way around it, we have been hit hard by cost increases across the board, and like our vendors and manufacturers, we are forced to raise prices.
Sticking with 100% Recycled Paper is costly, but the estimated savings (for this round of planners) of 16 tons of fresh wood/trees, 7,700 gallons of water, and 13 tons of CO2 - keeps us as committed as ever.
