Traditional liquid laundry detergents and bleach are usually packaged in high density polyethylene. 68% of these bottles are not recycled (often because they CAN'T be recycled due to the color and make up of the plastic) and contribute to the approximately 275 metric tons of plastic waste that goes into our oceans and waterways annually. Yikes.
Traditional liquid fabric softener and dryer sheets work by clogging fibers with an icky, sticky coating. Also, dryer sheets are made with synthetic fibers and will sit in the landfill (or as pollution in our environment) for many, many years.
