Fresh Fur Vinegar Rinse - Conditioning Rinse for Dogs

** This fur rinse comes as a pure concentrate and MUST be diluted before use. Experiment to find a dilution that works best for your dog.

Ingredients: organic apple cider vinegar, organic horsetail, organic rosemary, organic nettle, organic basil, organic burdock root, organic lavender, organic lavender essential oil, organic rosemary essential oil


HOW TO DILUTE + USE AS AN AFTER BATH RINSE:

  1. Put 8 ounces of warm water into a container (ie squirt or spray bottle).
  2. Add 1/2-2 Tablespoons of Fur Rinse and mix.
  3. Shampoo and rinse your pup as normal, or you can use the rinse without shampooing.
  4. Squirt or spray diluted Fur Rinse onto dog's wet coat (avoid face and eyes)
  5. Gently massage to distribute vinegar.
  6. Towel dry as normal.
    (You do NOT need to rinse out the vinegar solution, vinegar smell will dissipate as the coat dries.)

HOW TO DILUTE + USE FOR VERY ITCHY, FLAKY SKIN OR DANDRUFF:

  1. Prepare a spray or squirt bottle with 50% Fur Rinse and 50% water.
  2. Shampoo and rinse OR just rinse to saturate the coat.
  3. Squirt or spray the Fur Rinse onto wet coat, taking care to avoid the face and eyes.
  4. Gently massage the Fur Rinse throughout the coat and onto the skin.
  5. Lightly rinse and towel dry.

** Dandruff can be caused by many internal or external factors, so if the dandruff problem is chronic or you have any concerns, please check with your vet to determine the best course of treatment.


HOW TO DILUTE + USE TO HELP REPEL FLEAS:

  1. Mix equal parts water and Fur Rinse in a spray bottle.
  2. Lightly spray your dog's coat being sure to include the legs, feet, and belly before heading outdoors.
  3. Avoid the eyes, nose, and mouth.
  4. You can also spritz their bedding.

HOW TO DILUTE + USE FOR ODOR CONTROL:

Apple Cider Vinegar will not simply mask odors like other topical treatments, it will actually eliminate the bacteria and fungus that cause the smells. How often to use the spray depends on your dog. You will need to experiment to figure out what works best with your dog. Use Fur Rinse as an odor eliminator two ways:

  1. Follow the recipe for the After Bath Rinse above, but use a higher concentration of vinegar, about 1/2 to 1 Cup of vinegar to 2 Cups water. OR
  2. Combine the same ratio in a spray bottle and lightly spray/massage into dry fur onto the skin.

HOW TO DILUTE + USE AS A PAW SOAK:

Seasonal allergies and yeast can cause itchy, discolored, smelly, or even infected paws. Apple Cider Vinegar has antibacterial, antifungal, and antiseptic properties that can help soothe the irritation on pays from yeast or excessive licking and scratching.

  1. Aim for a dilution of about 1/2 Cup of Fur Rinse in 2 Cups of water.
  2. Soak paws in solution for 3-5 minutes, rinse, and pat dry. (Alternatively, you can use a saturated cloth or spray bottle to apply the rinse to the paws.)
  3. Use the treatment daily until symptoms subside.

HOW TO DILUTE + USE TO CLEAN EAR FLAPS:

Ear flaps can trap moisture and create a favorable environment for bacteria and yeast to grow. Fur Rinse can make an effective cleaning solution to use during bath time as well as in between bath days to keep the ear flaps clean and yeast free.

** If you suspect that your dog as an ear infection, please contact your veterinarian.
** Do NOT pour solution into your dog's ear canal.

  1. Mix 1/4 to 1/2 Cup Fur Rinse and 1 Cup of water.
  2. Moisten a clean cloth with the solution and gently wipe away the dirt and debris from the inside flap of the ears.

HOW TO DILUTE + USE FOR TROUBLE SPOTS:

If your dog has an itchy spot or two causing distress, Fur Rinse could be a good choice to apply topically, as apple cider vinegar has a cooling sensation.

** Avoid using on a dog's skin that has open wounds or sores, it will sting!

  1. Mix up a light dilution of Fur Rinse and use a compress or light spritz to apply to hot spot.
  2. Use a few times a day to help soothe irritation.
